My Story in Chicago

Sharing my Moth story at the Innocence Network Conference 2026 in Chicago was truly transformative. I felt a deep connection with the seven other storytellers as we worked together, receiving feedback and encouragement during several storytelling workshop sessions. At first, I was anxious—many of the participants had endured decades behind bars for crimes they never committed, and I worried my own journey would not come close to measuring up. Yet, they reassured me that my story of personal change and becoming an activist had genuine value. The camaraderie was powerful, like being part of a sports team rallying behind each member to deliver their heartfelt, emotional stories.
