Not What You Might Expect From an Inmate.
Not what you would expect to hear from an inmate 28 years inside and denied parole four times, but this is one of my cream of the crop The Prisoner’s Hope (TPH) mentees- SLC:
“….. Life is flowing along nicely for the most part; I am just busy: My electrical students graduate Friday so we are in the final push to get everything completed. Then, straight into a new group of students (inmates). So much to do, not enough time.
In other news, a cool friend went home last week and another close one leaves in nine days. I am happy for them, but am still sad ... I will miss them. Hmm! You know, the past four months have been tough in this regard - Five of my best friends gone. My quality social network has shrunk drastically, and I am working to develop new meaningful friendships. But, as you can imagine, healthy maturity is in short supply here behind the razor wire. …..”
I am blessed to correspond with SLC, and hope that our broken Kentucky Parole Board will finally understand this man is an asset to the community. The parole board deals in hate and fear and often forgets people can and do change over time. Next time up in the parole board CRUCIBLE is July 1st, 2028. SLC will face a computer monitor and have ten minutes or so to roll the dice. Not what you would expect to hear from an inmate 28 years inside and denied parole four times, but this is one of my cream of the crop The Prisoner’s Hope (TPH) mentees- SLC:
