40 Years and Counting for Our Friend

The disparity in justice between the poor and the wealthy remains evident, and it continues to influence many flawed decisions by our Kentucky Parole Board. Our friend Karen Brown, a former Centre College student, has now spent over 40 years behind bars. Heartbreakingly, she will never have the opportunity to appear before the parole board again. While this is deeply saddening for Karen, it is even more devastating for her loving family. Unfortunately, compassion is seldom found within Kentucky's system of mass incarceration. Please forgive us.
