Attending the AppCounsel DC fund raiser

I had the privilege of attending the AppCounsel.org fundraising gala in Washington, DC this past weekend. Donna Fehrmann, the founder, and her family greeted me warmly, making me feel truly welcome. I also met Chris Turner, Donna's dedicated legal aid, who endured 26 years in prison due to a wrongful conviction—his remarkable journey is featured in the book “When Innocence Is Not Enough.”

Throughout the evening, we listened to several powerful speakers share their personal experiences of being wrongfully convicted and the decades they spent behind bars. Their stories highlighted the ongoing fight to prevent future injustices and wrongful convictions, inspiring all of us to support criminal justice reform.
