My First Visit to Camp Kadesh in Owen County

Deb and I toured the halfway house/ RV park in Owen County with Chris Applegate, founder of Camp Kadesh Inc. We walked the site, saw the four existing RVs, reviewed space for two additional RVs, and looked at adjoining property that could support future expansion. Chris has already done significant work acquiring the property, installing utility services, laying gravel roads and he has several plans underway for what comes next. Transportation to somewhat nearby manufacturer jobs is a major hurdle. I tried to keep my comments focused on my role as the nonprofit’s board member, but I left the visit feeling the full weight of the scope of what Chris hopes to accomplish.

One Chri’s machines for doing the utility work. (I was jealous!)
